Based on reports from the Environmental Working Group the Dirty Dozen has been compiled. The Dirty Dozen is a list of the most heavily contaminated and sprayed foods.

  • Peaches
  • Apples
  • Strawberries
  • Grapes (especially imported varieties)
  • Cherries
  • Nectarines
  • Pears
  • Red Raspberries
  • Sweet Bell Peppers
  • Celery
  • Spinach and Lettuce
  • Potatoes
  • Tomatoes
  • Milk
  • Meat

Here is also a brief list of a few foods that are less likely to be heavily contaminated by pesticides:

  • Onions
  • Avocados
  • Sweet Corn (Frozen)
  • Pineapples
  • Mango
  • Asparagus
  • Sweet Peas (Frozen)
  • Kiwi Fruit
  • Bananas
  • Cabbage
  • Broccoli
  • Papaya
