Ever notice that tasks can be much easier when there is a team to tackle the job? Going for a walk can seem like a daunting task that continuously gets put on the back burner. However, if you have a friend to go with you, you start to look forward to that activity. The same thing can happen with making healthy dietary changes. This is why together with Carolyn Coffin from Living Primal, we founded the Eat Real Food Bootcamp. We offer thirty days of group support and accountability to people looking to improve their diets, while simultaneously helping them develop the critical thinking skills and habits of a person who eats real food. This group environment approach has yielded amazing results with our pilot group that started in October.
We had a group of nine participants eagerly accept our challenge. Weight loss was a motivator for some, but others were drawn to the program to improve blood sugar control, reduce inflammation, or regulate their hormones. Most people simply wanted to feel better, have more energy, and be healthy role models for their families.
Specific pre- and post-program measurements were taken as a means of tracking progress. Here is a summary of the group's results:
Carolyn and Dr. Durkin would like to congratulate this dedicated and enthusiastic group for making a worthwhile investment in their health.
Our November Boot Camp group is now underway. Check out this link for a complete list of our new 2014 dates.
