Guest Post – COVID-19 Precautions For Your Massage Therapy Appointment

Author: Dr. Scott Allin on 18 August 2020

Reducing the risk of the transmission of COVID- 19 continues to be a priority for everyone, even as we begin to see businesses open up again. Massage therapists are doing their part as they restart their practices. What can you expect for your next massage appointment?

In the reminder email that you receive prior to the appointment, there is a link with a mandatory COVID-19 screening questionnaire. Please fill it out and submit it online prior to coming to your appointment. As long as there is no indication of risk, we can proceed with your treatment.

When you arrive for your appointment, I will be wearing a mask, and you will need to wear one too before entering the building. If you have your own, please bring it, otherwise, we will provide one for you. After entering the building, you will need to wash or sanitize your hands right away. As I always have, I will be washing my hands and arms above my elbows before and after each interaction with a client.

With these precautions in place, I am still providing treatments with direct contact. I will be continuing my practice of sanitizing the table and any surfaces that have been touched by clients after they leave. I will also be changing my clothes after each appointment.

I look forward to seeing you! Please give us a call at the office at (613) 966-9660 if you have any questions.

Scott Allin, RMT
