Raspberry Zinger Smoothie

Author: Dr. Michelle Durkin on 11 June 2019

It's getting warmer and for me that means more smoothies! In the winter I'm not a huge smoothie fan because I prefer to eat something warm. But once the warmer weather is here smoothies are an easy win for me in the morning for breakfast, or an afternoon snack.

I love this smoothie because I get an easy serving of veggies and it tastes awesome! Who ever thought cauliflower in a smoothie would taste so good. Don't believe me? Give this recipe a try!

Ingredients (1 serving) :

  • 1 cup frozen cauliflower
  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 lemon (juiced)
  • 1/4 cup Pure Paleo vanilla protein powder (I use my medical food eg. Ultra Clear Renew, UltraInflamX360, UltraMealCardio 360, Estrium, or Pure Paleo Complete)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1.5 cups unsweetened almond milk (or other milk alternative)

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass, a mason jar for easy travel, or even a wine glass and enjoy!

Now I would love to hear from you! What is one unconventional ingredient you might use in a smoothie? Leave a comment below and I'll be back next week with another edition of Doctor as Teacher Tuesday!

Re Raspberry Zinger Smoothie, is the cauliflower blanched and frozen or frozen raw just long enough to be used in the smoothie?

Dr Michelle Durkin ND

Either way should work Marion 🙂
